Auckland angler Peter Jackson reclaimed his world game-fishing record after landing a 280kg Northern Pacific Bluefin Tuna off Hokitika when on board Genesis Fishing Charters
He was using fishing line that had a 37kg breaking strain, and currently holds the all tackle and 37kg Northern Pacific Bluefin Tuna world records after catching a 198kg Bluefin Tuna near Auckland in 2000. The huge bluefin tuna underwent DNA testing before the official record was announced. |
